Gather: Spring Mixer

Spring is just around the corner and we here at Gather are very excited for the longer days and warmer weather. Come join us to ring in the new season properly - with wine and snacks, of course.

To those who've attended our events before, WELCOME BACK! And to those joining for the first time, we're Gather; a group organizing events aimed at bringing together awesome women (like you!) who work in tech while donating to a local cause. The goal of Gather is to build community, to support each other, make meaningful connections, and give back to the larger community - all while having a fun time in a low pressure environment.

Proceeds from our ticket sales go to a local nonprofit organization, and for this event we'll be donating to WISH Drop-In Centre Society. The mission of WISH is to improve the health, safety, and well-being of women who are involved in Vancouver's street-based sex trade.

For this event, we also have the privilege of hearing from our guest speaker, Mebrat Beyene, Executive Director of WISH. As Executive Director of WISH and co-chair of Living in Community, Mebrat supports women and initiatives related to the health and safety of women engaged in street-based sex work.

Our event will be hosted by Allocadia, who will be providing all of the refreshments.

We can't wait to see you there!

Gather: Speaking from the He(art)

We here at Gather, are all artists in some way shape or form.

Whether you’re a designer who sees in Pantones, a developer who uses code to paint interactive masterpieces, or a marketing guru who helps craft the digital world around us (just to name a few), we all use our own artistic abilities to leave an impact in our prospective fields.

So, we thought what better way to celebrate the artistry in our everyday lives than to surround ourselves with our fellow creatives and make this next Gather event all about it!

We have a couple amazing presentations lined up for you by Angela Bains of TransformExp and Noa Ben-Mazia from Children Of Art.

Come hang out with us, enjoy a couple free beverages and most importantly, pizza! All treats provided to us by our lovely host, STAT Search Analytics. Donations will be going to Children of Art, an incredible foundation that uses the power of art and creativity to change lives. We are looking forward to seeing your friendly faces at this next gathering!
