Calling all talented designers, developers, artists, writers, filmmakers, musicians, ceramists, fashion designers, bakers, chefs—you name it! We cordially invite you all to our first ever Show & Tell where you can share your talent with everyone!
Gather YVR events have always been about building community - connecting, learning from, and sharing with one another has been the cornerstone of all our events. It's been clear that women in this city are doing amazing things, so we wanted to hold an event that really showcases that.
The Gather Show & Tell is a place where you can set up your own mini booth and showcase your work, whether that’s on your laptop, through a pair of speakers, notebooks, or physical works. Do you have a project you’ve been working on that you’d like some feedback on? Something you’re extremely proud of that you simply want to show off to the world? Read below for more information on being a Show & Teller!
Not interested in setting up a booth but curious what others are doing? Come through and marvel at the works of our peers! We at Gather want to celebrate and lift each other up, and what better way than to create a comfortable space where we can gather to inspire and be inspired.
We will be kindly hosted by our friends at Mobify this event, and as always we will be donating all proceeds to a local nonprofit Beauty Night Society, a registered Canadian charity that provides wellness, life skills development and makeovers to build self esteem and change the lives of women and youth in Vancouver’s DTES. We are excited to be joined by Caroline MacGillivray, the founder and executive director of Beauty Night Society, who will be speaking about the charity and the wonderful work they do for the community.
Show & Tellers
Want to be a Show & Teller? If so, please fill out our survey so we know who you are and what you’ll be showcasing! This also allows us to allocate a spot for you at the Show & Tell.
We will provide you with a small tabletop space (~60cmx40cm) to set up a mini booth, otherwise please bring whatever you need in order to be able to Show & Tell, like your own laptop if you are looking to share websites, videos, music, etc. Want to show off pottery, jewellery, and other physical work? Bring ‘em down!
Although buying/selling is not permitted at this event, we encourage you all to bring business cards and/or promote your work so interested buyers can get in touch with you!
