About this event
Welcome back to another Gather: Women In Tech event! New to us? We host events aimed at connecting women in the tech industry in Vancouver, while donating ticket proceeds to local nonprofit organizations.
This time around, we're super excited to welcome Mary Mendoza, financial advisor at Prometheus Private Advisory Group to our group who will be leading an "Adulting 101" financial workshop. The workshop is aimed to appeal to anyone who is interested in learning more about finances including tax savings, basic concepts of investing, and strategies to help plan for financial emergencies.
The workshop will leave time for Q&A with Mary, as well as our usual mingling afterwards. We'll be hosted by Domain7 in their beautiful space (with a view!). And of course, there will be wine!
We're also incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to donate our ticket proceeds to Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland, especially given that September is Big Brothers Big Sisters month! Big Sisters is committed to enhancing the confidence, self-esteem and well-being of female, transgender, and non-binary youth through supportive relationships with mentors.

Mary Mendoza is a financial advisor at Prometheus Private Advisory Group. She has been in the industry for four years, has completed her LLQP certification and is on her way to complete her CFP designation. She found her passion in the finance industry by working with individuals, especially women, in demystifying the concert of finance and helping them better manage their finances. What she finds most fulfilling in her role is making real connections with her clients, finding out what is important to them, and helping them achieve their goals.
Marley Stevens is the Volunteer and Recruitment Coordinator at Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland.a
